DESCRIPTION: Elderberries are itty bitty and grow in clusters of the Sambucus tree. They have been used by Native Americans and European herbalists for centuries for their supposed range of health benefits like boosting the immune system to help the body fight off colds, and other respiratory infections.
Elderberries are the fruit of the elderberry shrub. A rich source of antioxidants known as anthocyanins, elderberries are cultivated for medicinal and food purposes. Elderberry was so named because Native American herbalists regarded it as a wise “elder” plant thanks to its ability to promote health and vitality.
